Nicole's interest in birth began in her childhood as she was told a wonderful story about her great-grandmother. This incredible French woman raised six children to adulthood, but sadly, like so many others, she forgot all of her memories in her elderly years. Being cared for in a nursing home in New Hampshire, she sat rocking and singing to a baby doll most of her final days. During these years her children would visit, but she never acknowledged their presence, she could not even remember their names when asked by the nursing staff. She never spoke to anyone except during rare occasions. During these occasions she told incredible stories to the nurses who cared for her. Clearly and vividly she would recount and recall, in great detail, every child’s birth! She could remember the date, the time, each child’s name, their weight and length, even the weather. She brought to life the story of each labor and how her children came into the world. This left an impression on Nicole which grew into her passion, every birth is remembered!
